This course will consist of a three-hour lecture on the indications and contraindications for immediate implant placement. Immediate implants will be discussed for all areas of the oral cavity with reference to the amount of bone available after extraction including incisors, canines, premolars and molars. Various surgical protocols will be discussed in detail, which are dependent on differing clinical situations. The etiology, management and prevention of intra-operative and postoperative complications will be discussed.
