In the life of a busy dental professional, there are too few moments to decompress and unwind, and it’s too easy to choose responding to a few more emails over taking a break. With perfectionism as our backbone of training, we can be our own worst inner critics at times. As dentists, we’re always pressed for time, and, more often than not, we’re multitasking with numerous and never-ending to-do lists on a day-to-day basis while also performing high-demand procedures that require extensive precision and perfection.
Over the years, Dr. Sweta Shah has worked on incorporating mindful awareness into her daily life as a way to destress. Shah will share her own experiences and spark discussions on ways we can use mindfulness practices to help us approach our work with a calmer mind.
